Britannia Shellfish is a family run business based on the seafront at Beesands. Our own caught crab, lobster and scallops are held in large seawater tanks where you can "pick your own" shellfish, with the option of having it cooked for you. We also sell the freshest local wet fish and dressed "Start Bay" crab is a specialty, (ready to eat). If you time it right you could be lucky enough to see the crab and fish being landed on the beach directly in front of our premises. Ice-creams, cold drinks and homemade crab sandwiches are also available during the summer. We will be happy to make up a seafood box (contents of your choice) of fresh vacuum packed fish and shellfish for your home freezer.

Farmer Phil’s sheep farm is set deep in the heart of the South Hams district of South Devon. Green rolling countryside and a warm sunny climate, the area is ideally suited for sheep grazing. We use traditional family farming methods, modern and efficient when it comes to animal welfare, but small enough to treat each lamb individually. This attention to detail and concern for excellent animal husbandry produces tender meat consistent in quality and flavor throughout the year. Farmer Phil has a limited range of breakfast and BBQ meats at Hillfield reception. Find him also at Kingsbridge Farmers market on the first and third Saturday each month, and the Dartmouth Farmers market on the second Saturday. All markets run 0900-1300.
